Excellennnnnt. Bathurst + elective is still onnn because I don't have to repeat!! ((:
So very very relieved.

I have honeydew icecream and jellies and pandan roll things. Obsession much.

I wonder why you would name your kid after a Disney animal? D:

Notetoself: don't go to Maccas in dressy clothes at an odd time of day even if you really really want a hot fudge sundae.

Sibling speeches are adorable. (:

Is becoming better at picking gifts!

Thinks her thought processes are somewhat diminished during these holiday periods. Zombie!

Mhmmm oh well. In my happy place.

Random incidents of note that have happened in the past fortnight.

xPork rolls in the park by an imaginary beach, we play find-the-spare-change in ave's car while she visits her grandma, and uno and big2 at my place. It was like truth or dare, without the bottle, and the dares LOL. Childhood crush stories ftw, I almost died of cuteness. ♥

xPhotoshopping fun (you should never have put the idea into my head)

xWatching Bubbleboy with the student and trying to convince her that yes, this is considered learning.

xThe night my friends put their life on the line by trusting in my driving abilities as we make our way out into the wilderness of c-town for a masquerade ball.

xMy laptop cooling pad arrived! (Yes. I got excited. Leave me alone. The delivery man came around eleven and I was the only one home walking out in my pjs and tousled hair. He asked me what I was doing still in bed.)

xCheap cheap Ikea stuffs and randomly strolling into that lakeside park because you thought the view was real pretty only to slowly discover you are completely surrounded by couples. Awkward.

Long romantic walk anyone? LOL. (The couples had not arrrived at aforementioned park yet. I bet they stole our idea.)

xFIRST UWSMED-BABY IS BORN 301109. Our baby now. :D

xHaving to conquer advertising dudes getting in your personal space and asking questions completely unrelated to whatever product they were selling, partly compensated for by the fact that you finally have a proper capo and some new picks. ;D

xShe fails at finger-picking, but her strumming is getting better.

xNeeds to learn which end of George St is which to prevent necessity of future rescue missions.

xMajor shopping fail when we end up eating a crapload of Shanghai dumplings, browsing phones, playing Nintendo DS', being smothered in scents and generally becoming rather sleepy instead of accomplishing our original mission.

Yummmmiest drink I've had in a while. Honeydew thickshake with crazy straw. :3

I wonder why my sister likes Lego so much.

xReminiscing with an old friend face-to-face since god-knows-when and reverting back to our year8 selves.

xWatching in amusement as said friend plays tug-o-war with her laptop bag and a random kid she managed to attract...somehow.

xContemplating the use of marshmallows as a weapon.

xWatching the Dalai Lama put on a visor. He was humble and had a sense of humour, even though I had trouble understanding him through his accent at times. As he said: don't come expecting miracles; he is simply sharing his experiences and if they happen to better us, then all the better for it. Not everything was new material, but it was good to be reminded of some of it again. I felt...rejuvenated. I now have a mysterious seed I am expected to look after and nurture. The topic for the conference was our future: who is responsible? I guess I am :D ...to an extent. Who's worried?

Had not expected so many people to see the Dalai Lama. These old people had really noisy chips behind us, and the girl next to me had like an endless supply of Pocky. Hey, I'm just giving you a context.

And I'm talking to myself.

Since when are gundams so elusive?

I'd forgotten how much I missed reading fantasy. Made much more awesome by my new hanging reading light.

I think tonight was the first time I've driven a boy home. LOLZORS (laughs at p in particular).

Meeting more ickle firsties tmrw, and hanging out at Kmart with my super-cool friends. We are so cool. I am so smrt.

Methinks I need to sleep more. At less unnatural hours, lol.

Will get back into the bloggingness. Small steps. I'll try and do it in small, sizeable chunks rather than a super-massive epic post of boringness.

Pre-finals.
The sister finished her HSC on 291009, while 301009 was the last day EVER of year 3 for me. Crazy busy, with yil's 21st and some last minute touches on my ebm assignment. I show p around c-town, my second home this year. Dinner that night with the girls before we hit the books, korean bbq @ strathfield, an objection to me wanting to go to lollipop's playland (deprivedchildhoodok?), followed by gelato and some lounging around on the comfy sofas of an empty shopping centre. Not creepy at all, lol. An extensive debate, and some interesting revelations. Graduation dinner for the triplets on 151109 and I vow that I am not going back to Mounties Buffet anytime in the next 10 years. Good job kids on making it through. (:

Crunchtime.
She becomes vaguely hobo in likeness, her room becomes a blackhole of paper, and plastic sheets and books. Lives in pyjamas. Her speakers die and a part of her dies also and she can't study in the silence so she goes and buys some :D. On Friday the 13th, with 40 mins from the end of her 3rd and second-last exam, the fire alarms go off and all are evacuated. The exam papers burn to a crisp and she cannot graduate from this year. NOT. They don't burn, they simply remain unfinished and will screw up the entire grading process. Her immaculately dressed friend who no longer owns 'normal clothes' reverts back to high-school jeans & teenage rebellion rock mode. The end can't come early enough.

The story since post exams:

x day0: exams overr 161109. pizzahut buffet, and a drive (with a hyperactive girl obssessed with a panda, and our lovely driver) through splendid rainforest to Bulli beach where we frolick in the waves, bury ourselves in sand, get hit in face with volleyballs and then spend too long trying to fold a stupid tent. Fun times. Dinner (takoyaki love) then to Liling's for table-tennis, singstar-ing, and a shameless chick flick (Richard Gere and Julia Roberts hahaha).

x day1: chore day! fall asleep in the sister's bed watching ponyooo hahaha.

xday2: hit the shops to help with dress-shopping, and i inadvertently end up buying one too LOL.

xday3: sleeping in-ness, and work. a late-night drive for krispy kremes & tiramisu icecreaamu.

xday4: buying materials to make my mask from spotlight with the sister. kuletos & world bar for j's 21st (: mmhm. slight awkwardness (but also much funniness) in the car. can't remember the last time i took the train before today.

xday5: work, with a slightly nerve-wracking incident in which i try and exercise my mediation skills. a stop by the library for old time's sake, walking out with an armful of my favourites. a random visit from a bored friend (who needed some respite from her asian infatuation, cough), with some long conversation in the kid's corner of maccas over hot-fudge sundaes (our trademark). mmhm.

xday6: shopping for some last bling for my mask, some snorkeling stuff and a subway lunch. i discover someone who lives life at a pace, with an attitude that is even more laidback than mine. i had not thought it possible.

xyesterday: some communication failure on my part, but manage to get together the high school girls for some casual company. love love seeing your faces again after so long. i rediscover my penchant for driving in the dark, your mind so clear.

xtoday: lol@being an all-girl family. times are changing, we are changing. it won't happen. who's coming over?

things i do intermittently when i am bored:
x pick up the psp: almost finished jeanne d'arc! dj max ♥. wants: dissidia, little big planet, fat princess.
x currently reading: pratchett masquerade, gaiman neverwhere, a stephen fry and a fantasy series.
x trawl through all my (or not-so-mine) music; it carries you away, and brings you together again. If the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, the way to mine would be through my um, auditory canal and medial geniculate nucleus.
x leapfrog into the sister's room looking for entertainment which usually either comes in the form of movies, youtube, jamming and/or spiky ball vs. gymball fights.
x clean.
x reorganise stuff.
x dial a phone number.
x lurker!
x write massive lists on random bits of paper that never fit well together
x sinnnng.

random.
L: "why should i let you in your room?" (after hijacking P's bedroom)
P: (with her face showing through a crack in the door) "...cos you're friendly?"
Hahahahah. Fails.

"I'ts like a dead puppy"

"Help meee, I have seven windows of Lee Hom open on my laptop." LOL.

"You are like a future mirror version of myself."

Ethics assignments. Ashley Madison & enlightend self-interest. Nonononoo. I object.

5-way msn conversations that don't happen since high school. ♥

on the horizon. /subject to change.
x Masquerade ball
x Dalai Lama's talk
x Linda's 21st
x Danmei's 21st
x Bathurst/Blue Mtns getaway
x J&J's birthdays
x J's birthday
x Seven Hills Buffet
x Hansonam's 21st

You're all grown uppp!!
The sister's graduation on Thursday reminded me so much of my own.
It felt so strange to be on school grounds again.

Three of my best friends also have sisters graduating this year.
All the best to everyone for the big H-S-C. ;D

Okay. Procrastination is my enemy. So hard to win :(

Needs to learn the difference between pretend-study (reorganising notes, folders; looking for the right pens; cleaning the desktop; trying to do ten things at once and being subject to constant distraction) and study-study. Actual brain-is-absorbing-this study.

YAYYYYY GREENS :D.

Friday. She makes a commitment to herself, fitness first and Aves to get into as best shape she can in a month! You can see why Brad, the guy who signs people up, is doing what he does. She, being the co-ordinated, organised person she is brings two unmatching shoes. Trend-setter much?

Saturday. Finds out RTA only takes bookings so she will come back next week. She eats a crapload of iceblocks but it still hurts to breathe, let alone swallow.

Sunday. She spends her morning immersing herself in Malaysian culture in Darling Harbour; but mostly in the food! She shares (yes she has brave friends who think they're invincible), now let's see if she can get this right:

  • 100 plus (LOL I can't remember if Vy got out of trying it)

  • Nasi lemak (coconut rice, chilli paste, anchovies, peanuts, egg and cucumber)

  • Chicken satay

  • Roti canai (paper-thin flour that kind of resembles crepes but is lighter and had awesome dipping sauces)

  • Teh tarik

  • These fishcake thingys with sweet chilli sauce

  • Popiah (very much like ricepaper rolls)

  • Durian pannacotta

  • And another dessert-y thing of which I have forgotten the name of. Also kind of crepe-like, but with corn inside.

  • Some of the foods were trans-Asian. Like cendol. And grass jelly.

Hahahah. Not epic, but a reasonable sample for a first-timer methinks. Thanks dudes. :P

She now highly contemplates stopping by Malaysia for her elective. :DD *wink nudge at her 'tourguide'* LOL.

Then for a relatively short drive to Gladesville for a beautiful baby shower! Many baby shower virginities taken today. Bubby is going to be wayyy spoiled, with cashmere teddies and 'Armani wool' booties, and a gorgeous wardrobe and picture books galore. The games were fun too; measure-the-'girth' (LOL), 'match-the-baby-photo', etc. Food was plentiful and the waterview at the back was lovely. Enchanted by the nephew! Bub was so smart, and totally kidnap-worthy.

She is currently in music heaven. Feeling happy despite physically being shite. Post-osces is just a tad more liberating. Yay Bathurstbathurstbathurst. She is going to collect a repertoire of the things she can cook. Currently very limited and highly embarassing though so she will keep it to herself until it is half decent.

She can't believe how little time there always seems to be.

Needs to relearn how to venepuncture, catheterise, fax and other fun intern stuff (possibly discharge summaries) that is just a little too much for a pregnant intern juggling two simultaneous team duties. There's a fine line between feeling helpful, and being blatantly used as free labour. Now where to draw the line.
